Last season, GeVa Theatre Center inaugurated a new holiday tradition with A Christmas Story. So popular was the production that nearly every seat for the entire run of the show sold out! Bowing to popular demand, Geva brings back that well-loved story of a young boy's dearest Christmas wish. We can all remember a time when there was such a thing as the one perfect Christmas gift...the gift that just might change your life. A Christmas Story celebrates this nostalgia and unforgettable childhood moments in a production for the whole family.

Ralphie wants one things and one thing only for Christmas: an official Red Ryder 200-Shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle - a BB gun! But when even his own mother counters with "You'll shoot your eye out," what's a boy to do?

The 1983 film, based on the stories and memories of radio and TV personality Jean Shepherd, has become a holiday classic. What better way to celebrate the holidays than to relive all those famous moments of the film realized on the Geva Mainstage? Who can forget Flick's tongue stuck to the flagpole, Ralphie getting his mouth washed out with soap, Randy's overstuffed snowsuit, the bunny suit and, of course, the leg lamp?

Geva's production of A Christmas Story features Remi Sandri, who makes a return visit to Geva as Ralphie's father - "The Old Man." Mr. Sandri was last seen in Geva's productions of Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure and Tuesday's With Morrie. Brigitt Markusfeld returns as Miss Shields and Maia Guest makes her GeVa Theatre Center debut as Ralphie's Mother. Broadway veteran William Parry (original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins, Sunday in the Park with George, Passion and Road Show) makes his Geva debut as the adult Ralph. Local young actors Alison Banks, Chase Boss, Gavin Flood, Jordan McNees, Michael Motkowski, siblings Kyle and Johnathan Mueller, Sean Ryan, Alana Silber, Matt Shill, and siblings Alizabeth and Annaleigh York complete the cast.

A Christmas Story is directed by Mark Cuddy. The design team includes Rob Koharchick (scenic designer), B. Modern (costume designer), Kirk Bookman (lighting designer) and Dan Roach (sound designer). Mr. Cuddy is assisted by Melissa Rain Anderson.

A Christmas Story is co-produced by Key Bank, MVP Health Care, Time Warner Cable, Wendy's Restaurants, WROC-TV, Zimmer Sales & Services Corp.
