A BREAK IN THE RAIN Starring Elizabeth A. Davis and More to Screen at Big Apple Film Festival

Elizabeth A. Davis also stars in a new independent film “A Break in the Rain,” which will be screened later this week at the 2026 Big Apple Film Festival in New York City.                                                                                                           

Directed by Don Scardino, “A Break in the Rain” will screen Friday, May 15, at 5 p.m. at Village East by Angelika Theatre 2 in New York City. Davis stars in the Independent film along with Michael O'Keefe, S. Epatha Merkerson, Emily Donahoe, Will Chase and Mary Beth Peil. The film also features original music by Don Scardino and Elizabeth A. Davis.

Filmed in upstate New York, “A Break in the Rain” follows Jake (Michael O'Keefe), a man returning home after years away following the death of his son. While driving for a local car service, he forms an unexpected bond with singer Catriona Walsh (Davis), forcing both characters to confront the lives they have been avoiding and discover a new path forward.

The film has already received honors from the Woodstock Film Festival, Palermo Independent and International Film Festival, Capri Hollywood International Film Festival, Boomtown Film and Music Festival, Utopia Film Festival and Nyack International Film Festival.

The May 15, 5 p.m., screening will be the film's only showing at the festival. Village East by Angelika Theatre #2 is located at 181-189 Second Avenue in New York City.
