MADAME X- THE MUSICAL! BY Gerard Alessandrini AND ROBERT HETZEL – JUNE 22 AT 7PM
Melodrama, music, and murder ensue in Madame X- The Musical!, an over-the-top, hysterical take on Douglas Sirk films and the ever-durable genre of the altruistic, self-sacrificing mother.
A curvaceous shopgirl with a questionable past wins a beauty contest—and the heart and hand in marriage of a wealthy politician. Fresh off her New York City Center Encores! debut in The Wild Party, Meghan "Big Red" Murphy brings GAYCON to 54 Below. The award-winning performer will blend Broadway favorites, Beyoncé hits, comedy, and Old Hollywood glamour in a celebration of iconic LGBTQIA+ figures.
Murphy, a Joseph Jefferson Award winner, recently appeared alongside Norm Lewis in La Cage Aux Folles at The Muny and earned acclaim for her performance as Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes.

Back by popular demand, Tony Award winner and three-time Grammy nominee Melba Moore returns to 54 Below with From Broadway, With Love. The evening traces her remarkable career, from singing backup for Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin to succeeding Diane Keaton in Hair and starring in Broadway productions including Purlie.
Accompanied by a trio and visual presentation, Moore will perform songs associated with Broadway legends including Liza Minnelli, Barbra Streisand, and Diahann Carroll.

After fifteen years and 150 New York performances, the acclaimed Sondheim Unplugged series enters its final season. Created by Phil Geoffrey Bond, the concert series celebrates the music of Stephen Sondheim with Broadway and cabaret performers accompanied only by piano. Hosted by Rob Maitner, the series features music direction by John Fischer and direction by Lucia Spina.
The 7 p.m. performance, Finishing the Hat, features special guests Eric Michael Gillett, Ramona Mallory, Karen Mason, Ann Morrison, Lucia Spina, and Aléna Watters. The 9:30 p.m. performance, Look, I Made a Hat, features Ramona Mallory, Leenya Rideout, Jennifer Sánchez, Lucia Spina, and Jim Walton.
