2015 Hartford Artisan Showcase to Highlight Original Art This Weekend

Hartford, CT -- From paintings to pottery and metal arts to jewelry, unique and original art abounds at the Connecticut Convention Center for the first annual Hartford Artisan Showcase. A juried event, this new and exciting show will feature original art and high-quality crafts throughout the weekend. Show hours: Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Taking place the same weekend as Open Studio Hartford, the Hartford Artisan Showcase will be part of the highly anticipated citywide arts event featuring the work of artists from all over New England. This new event will be a great opportunity for art collectors and those who simply enjoy art to not only purchase an original work, but also experience art through live demonstrations.

Demonstrations at the Showcase include:
• Roger Bowie an ironworker from Groton, CT will be welding iron sculptures.
• Kris Conners from Clinton, CT will be giving a chainsaw carving demo (Saturday only).
• Shauna Shane a painter from Storrs, CT will start and develop paintings live.
• Nikki Conroy from Sterling, CT will be giving sewing demonstrations.
• David Hancock, Jr. a furniture maker from Thompson, CT will be hand-crafting furniture along with his son Chrystopher.
