Diane Paulus, nominated for BEST DIRECTION OF A MUSICAL for Pippin
"I was at Laguardia waiting to board the shuttle to head back to ART, and I was waiving to them to please let me wait because I was getting texts constantly, after every category. So it was an amazing moment for me at the airport . A musical is built by a team- it's a collaboration, so when you get this kind of recognition across the board it's amazing. I couldn't be happier! I've been in New York watching all the previews up to opening night, so the best celebration for me is to return to the ART where the show was born and come back and hug the staff here!"
