The 2007 Nightlife Awards, celebrating the best cabaret, jazz, and comedy in the city, will be held at New York's Town Hall on January 29th.

Produced by Scott Siegel ("Broadway Unplugged" and "Broadway By the Year"), the annual Nightlife Award ceremony is the only "all-performance" awards show. Celebrity presenters introduce the winners who then perform in-lieu of acceptance speeches.

Critics and experts vote on the best performances they saw this past year in the clubs of New York City.  Some of the award categories are: Outstanding Cabaret Female Vocalist, Outstanding Male Vocalist, Outstanding Cabaret Revue/ Group/ Variety Performance, Unique Cabaret Performance, Outstanding Female Stand-up Comedian, Outstanding Male Stand-up Comedian, Outstanding Jazz Soloist, Outstanding Jazz Combo Performance.

Past winners include Brian Stokes Mitchell, Elaine Stritch, Joy Behar, Liz and Ann Hampton CallawayPatti LuPone, Andrea McArdleAlice Ripley, and Bruce Vilanch. Eartha Kitt was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the 2006 ceremony.
