11th Annual Celebration of Borimix Honors the Dominican Culture with 'Rescate Poetico'

The Eleventh Annual celebration of Borimix is honoring the Dominican culture and extends an invitation to the public for the performance of Rescate Poético.

Rescate Poético is a poetry performance which includes the classic and contemporary Puerto Rican and Dominican poetry with ?the participation of the actors Amneris Morales, Belange Rodriguez and Carlos Manuel Rivera who with their voice and body will perform poetry beyond the literary work per se.

The show will be accompanied musically by EManuel Roque who by making use of different musical instruments (strings, winds, percussion) and with the combination of sounds, rhythms and silences creates melodies with poets and performers to transmit and awaken the moods and emotions such as fear, loneliness, the cruelty of human beings, nature, the evolution of the universe, the transience of life, dreams, love of the country, the struggles and introspection. At the same time EmManuel Roque performs songs of Puerto Rican and Dominican composers and uniting lyrical songs to poetry as a bridge on this journey of feelings.

The event will be held in the, SEA Theater at the Cultural and Educational Center Clemente Soto Velez. Some of the Puerto Rican and Dominican poets included in this Poetic Rescue are: Clemente Soto Velez, Julia de Burgos, Manuel del Cabral, José de Diego, Francisco Matos Paoli, Clara Lair, Luis Llorens Torres, Pedro Mir, other contemporary poets such as Luis Rodriguez (Laro) and spoken word such as Herbie Rodriguez and A. B. Lugo.

The event will be held at the Cultural and Educational Center, Teatro SEA on Suffolk Street # 107 (between Delancey and Rivington) NY, NY 1002, Saturday, Nov. 12 at 8:00 pm.
