WaterTower Theatre Announces Details of the 2017 Community Cast Party

WaterTower Theatre is excited to be continuing one of our most talked about and anticipated traditions, the Community Cast Party! CCP Co-Chairs Stan Graner, Corky Pledger, Deborah Staggs and Maureen Anderson today announced details for the 4th Annual Community Cast Party. The party will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at WaterTower 's home, the Addison Theatre Centre from 7 pm to 10 pm. The Community Cast Party is designed to attract a wide audience of patrons, partiers, and food lovers who are interested in supporting WaterTower Theatre while enjoying an evening of entertainment with cuisine offered from many fine local restaurants. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with artists from the DFW theatre community at the "open house" style event, where everyone is welcome.

The entertainment for this year's party will feature the NY Goofs, Danielle Georgiou Dance Group (DGDG), and a musical theatre ensemble including Monique Abry, Justin Duncan, Kyle Igneczi, Laura Lites, and Calvin Scott Roberts under the musical direction of Pam Holcomb-McLain.

Monique Abry is a New York City-based actress. She has been seen in the Dallas-Fort Worth area at WaterTower Theatre, Casa Mañana, Theatre Three, Dallas Children's Theater, Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Wishing Star Productions, Our Productions, and Garland Summer Musicals. She will be seen in the role of Crissy in Dallas Theater Center's upcoming production of Hair. She recently toured the country in A Year with Frog and Toad, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Favorite Credits: Little Women the Musical (Jo), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie), Into the Woods (Cinderella), and Sweet Charity (Ursula). She is a native of New Orleans, and received her B.M. in Music Theater from Oklahoma City University. Proud member of Actor's Equity Association.

Justin Duncan was previously seen in WaterTower's production of Parade in Concert. Justin has performed with many theatres including Lyric Stage, Undermain Theatre, Stage West, Amphibian Stage Productions, Theatre Too, Shakespeare Dallas, and Uptown Players. He also toured Stuart Little and The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley with Dallas Children's Theater.

Kyle Igneczi is beyond proud to return to perform at WaterTower! Select credits include Parade in Concert, Dogfight, Bonnie & Clyde, The Spark (WaterTower Theatre); Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Angels in America, Aida (Uptown Players); The Minotaur, Memphis (Theatre Three); Seussical (Dallas Children's Theater); RENT, Spamalot (Casa Mañana); The Explorers Club (Stage West / WaterTower Theatre). Kyle also toured the world with Sesame Street Live and Curious George Live, is an award-winning DFW puppeteer and puppet builder, and is a voice actor with FUNimation. He will next be seen in Dallas Theater Center's Hair.

Laura Lites has had a busy year! While performing in shows such as Broadway our Way and Titanic at Uptown Players, and Cabaret at Brick Road Theatre. Laura also just got married! She is also a mom to an adorable little girl who will be two years old in a couple of months. Coming up next, Laura will be seen in Hair at Dallas Theater Center.

Pam Holcomb-McLain has been a music director, pianist, and instructor in DFW for over 15 years and is happy to make her second appearance with WaterTower Theatre. She spends a lot of her professional life at Dallas Children's Theater where she both teaches and music directs and is currently working on their production of Goosebumps the Musical: Phantom of the Auditorium. Other venues and credits include Memphis, Passing Strange (Theatre Three); Company, The Light in the Piazza, and the upcoming The Secret Garden (Brick Road Theatre Company); Old Time Music Hall (Theatre Britain); Nunsense, The Pirates of Penzance, and next spring's The Full Monty (Mainstage Irving-Las Colinas); and many other theatres and schools. Outside of music directing and teaching, Pam plays and sings at Two Corks and Bottle, records instrumental tracks for individuals and theatres, and gives audition prep vocal coaching sessions.

Calvin Scott Roberts is thrilled to be back at Community Cast Party! Calvin has been performing for the last ten years all over the DFW Metroplex. Some of Calvin's regional theatre credits include Theatre Three, Casa Mañana, Dallas Children's Theater, WaterTower Theatre, Jubilee Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Uptown Players, Lyric Stage, Dallas Theater Center, and Shakespeare Dallas.

In 1998, The New York Goofs were originally created as a playground in New York City for physical comedians and clowns to develop new material, pursue ensemble performing, and bring clowning into contemporary theatrical spaces. After a decade of appearances at major festivals throughout the world and off-off Broadway theatres in New York City, the Goofs relocated in Dallas to pursue new venues and new audiences while raising a family in Texas. The Goofs premiered two new works at the Out of the Loop Fringe Festival, Clown Brain and God, Me, Slappy. They are currently starting their third season of Goofballs Cabaret, a monthly variety show at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre in Dallas.

The Danielle Georgiou Dance Group (DGDG) was founded in 2011 by Danielle Georgiou, and is a dance theatre company that works within the ideas of contemporary dance and physical theatre. DGDG's work reflects Georgiou's interest in social and psychological issues, and in creating compelling images of a "new female." The works break with the tradition of contemporary dance and tend to be more conceptual or narrative-driven. Whether collaborating or defining her own work, Georgiou looks for performers that constantly strive to transform themselves, either in image or skill. Technique is your foundation-not your identity.

The Danielle Georgiou Dance Group was selected as Best Dance Company for 2016 by the Readers of D Magazine, and was named 2015's Best Dance Troupe by the Dallas Observer. The Show About Men (2015) was named Best New Play or Musical and cited for Outstanding Creative Contribution for Choreography by the Dallas Fort Worth Theater Critics' Forum Awards. NICE (2014), which premiered at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre for the AT&T Performing Arts Center's Elevator Project, also won for Choreography. DGDG was the only company asked back to the second Elevator Project in 2017, for which they premiered the brand-new original musical comedy, Donkey Beach.

DGDG is the first-ever Artist-In-Residence at the Dallas Public Library, and will be creating a new work to premiere in December 2017 at the downtown location.

Catch a wave to the edge of the world! All the coolest kids are partying down at Donkey Beach, the home of cosmic sands and everlasting summer! Jimmy and Suzie sneak away from summer camp to have a romantic week at the beach, when they run into a swingin' band of characters, and a magical donkey! That's right, a Donkey! They party into the night, and splash around in the moonlight! But Holy Hee-Haw! Little do they know, when you swim in the waters of Donkey Beach, you stay in summer forever! What happens when the party never ends?! Will Jimmy and Suzie ever escape? Will the Donkey grant their wishes? Will the Queen of the Sea ever catch them? What about Tad, Dooney, and Bee-Bee? Wait! Who ARE Tad, Dooney, and Bee-Bee?!

Donkey Beach was conceived and choreographed by Danielle Georgiou, with an original script by Ruben Carrazana, and original music and lyrics by Justin Locklear, Trey Pendergrass, and Cory Kosel.
