Fox Cities PAC to Welcome 2 Millionth Patron 11/13 at FLASHDANCE

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center has announced that it will welcome its two millionth ticketed patron during the Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 performance of Flashdance - The Musical. Activities and a curtain speech by the Center's Executive Vice President Maria Van Laanen will be held prior to the show.

"It is such an exciting moment to reach our 2 millionth ticketed patron during a high-energy show like Flashdance - The Musical! The spirit of the community has gotten us to this milestone and we're happy to celebrate with all of our patrons," Van Laanen said. "So many people have experienced the magic of Broadway and live performing arts from all over the world through our Boldt Arts Alive! Series. We look forward to the next 2 million being able to do the same."

The Center, which opened in November 2002, celebrated its millionth patron during a performance of Tchaikovsky Ballet and Orchestra's Swan Lake in March 2008.

2 Millionth Ticketed Patron Celebration: Preshow activities will kick off the celebration with an awesome '80s dance party with KZ 104.3's Mary Love and Richard's School of the Dance will get the evening started. Patrons are encouraged to come dressed in their best fashions of the decade for a chance to meet the cast of Flashdance - The Musical after the show. Special gift bags will be handed out, while supplies last. Attendees also will be able to try their luck at the prize wheel and get their picture snapped at a photo station with a background from the show's iconic splash scene. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Activities available for ticket holders to the Wednesday performance only.

About Flashdance - The Musical (Nov. 12-17, 2013; Tickets start at $50.): Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the pop culture phenomenon of "Flashdance" is now live on stage. With electrifying dance at its core, Flashdance - The Musical tells the inspiring and unforgettable story of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a bar dancer by night with dreams of one day becoming a professional performer. When romance with her steel mill boss threatens to complicate her ambitions, Alex learns the meaning of love and its power to fuel the pursuit of her dream.

Flashdance - The Musical features a score with the biggest hit songs from the movie, including the Academy Award-winning title song "Flashdance...What a Feeling," "Maniac" and "I Love Rock & Roll." In addition to these hits, 16 brand new songs have been written for the musical with music by Robbie Roth and lyrics by Robert Cary and Robbie Roth.

Flashdance - The Musical features a book by Tom Hedley (co-writer of the original screenplay) and Robert Cary with direction and choreography by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys, Memphis).

Some of the costumes, dancing and language may not be appropriate for younger audience members.
