Hailing from historic County Waterford, the acclaimed Irish ensemble Danú celebrates a traditional Irish Christmas with An Nollaig in Éirinn. Winner of major awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, Danú returns to the U.S. in December with special guests and a glorious celebration of Christmas from their homeland. Celtic music lovers around the globe have been thrilled by the ensemble's virtuoso players on fiddle, flutes, button accordion, percussion and the gorgeous voice of Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh. In Ireland, the festival of Christmas has for centuries been celebrated by traditional Irish music and song. There are many musical tributes that pay homage to early Irish traditions such as The Laden Table, placing a candle in a window, and touring from house to house on St.Stephen's Day. Christmas in Ireland: An Nollaig in Éirinn is a Celtic music celebration that warms the heart.

NTC PRODUCTIONS returns to the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center with its delightful stage production of Charles Dickens' holiday classic A Christmas Carol on Thursday, December 15. This fully staged musical version of Charles Dickens' classic tale has become a Yuletide tradition. The story was adapted for the stage by Charles Jones, former executive director of the Omaha Community Playhouse in Omaha, Nebraska. NTC has been touring this adaptation of A Christmas Carol since 1979. It is one of the most widely viewed productions of the Dickens tale in the nation, annually performing for over 100,000 people in over 60 cities across the country.

A Christmas Carol features a spirited ensemble of 28 performers who bring Dickens' fable of redemption to life on a magical set created by noted designer James Othuse. A full array of timeless carols such as "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "Away In a Manager" and "Here We Come A-Wassailing" are interwoven within the classic story of a tight-fisted, middle-class merchant Ebenezer Scrooge and all the beloved characters from Dickens' 1843 novel. The heartwarming tale depicts Scrooge, whose values are focused exclusively on profit, and his conflicts with the struggling Cratchit family, whose tragic problems typified the working class during the Industrial Revolution in Victorian England.

The touching climax of A Christmas Carol is based on Dickens' belief that the ills of a greedy world can be healed by brotherhood and unselfishness. The colorful scenery and elaborate costumes faithfully recreate the Victorian period. Exceptional voices, lively dancing and dazzling special effects like the mysterious spinning bed combine to create a spectacular holiday treat for the entire family.

Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation and US Bank are local community partners for NTC PRODUCTIONS A Christmas Carol, part of The Boldt Arts Alive! Series. The series is also supported by the title sponsor, The Boldt Company. The Boldt Arts Alive! Series is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
