BWW Preview: ANASTASIA Set to Play at Fox Cities P.A.C.
ANASTASIA will play at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton from January 8-13. Here's what you need to know before Russian to see the show.
- Based on the 1997 animated movie, ANASTASIA is a fictionalized take on Russian history in which Russian Grand Duchess Anastasia survives the 1918 execution of her family but suffers from amnesia. With the help of two con men, she attempts to uncover her past.
- While it is based on the animated movie, the Broadway show varies from original in some key points. For instance, the Rasputin character is replaced with a new villain and supernatural elements are omitted."
- The show features popular songs from the movie along with many new numbers.
- ANASTASIA is still a young show, having premiered on Broadway in 2017. Plus, this is the Wisconsin premiere.
ANASTASIA runs at the Fox Cities P.A.C. from January 8-13. Tickets are still available.
