The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce the 2011/12 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Education Series which brings classroom lessons to life for students in the Fox Cities and throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Highlights of the upcoming season include Aquila Theatre Company in William Shakespeare's Macbeth, Clifford The Big Red DogTM - LIVE! and Chicago Children's Theatre's The Hundred Dresses.

The announcement of the 2011/12 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Education Series calendar provides a wide variety of educational opportunities to reach as many students as possible. "The Center's 2011/12 education performances cover many subjects including science, social studies, geography, literature, arts, music and dance," said Maria Van Laanen, executive vice president of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. "Education is a cornerstone of the Center's mission, impacting more than 22,000 students each year."

Designed to compliment Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards for grades PreK-12, the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Education Series provides age-appropriate opportunities to experience learning through the performing arts. "A visit to the Center is more than a field trip," said Amy Gosz, director of programming and community engagement at the Fox Cities P.A.C. "As a former kindergarten teacher, I know from experience that educators craft their lessons to help students get the most from each performance. Plays like Freedom Bound and Unsinkable Women have the power to infuse historical facts and textbook lessons with real human emotion. It's an amazing moment when you can see that a student really grasps a classroom concept when they see it live onstage."

To support classroom integration of the performing arts, the Center also provides study guides and other classroom resources in advance of each performance. Classroom workshops and programs are arranged whenever possible to allow students to interact directly with professional artists. Educators can make class reservations now for the 2011/12 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Educations Series. Reservations can be made by phone at (920) 730-3786 or online at foxcitiespac.com.
