based on the book by H.G. Wells, directed by Dick Danforth. Sandia Performing Arts Company will re-enact that night in 1938 on stage and the audience is invited to imagine themselves as the audience in the CBS studio as Orson Welles and his radio players read the script and watch the chaos in the sound engineering booth as police try to convince the studio executive to end the broadcast due to public panic. The audience will also see a typical family of the late 1930’s listening intently to their old Crosley radio and reacting to the “news flashes.” Performances at the Vista Grande Community Center, 15 La Madera Rd., Sandia Park, 307-2333.
