Rudolfo Anaya's beloved Christmas tale comes to life on stage at the Vortex. With her father deployed in World War II and her grandfather sick, young Luz struggles to uphold the Christmas tradition of lighting bonfires to illuminate the path for the shepherds searching for the Christ Child in her small New Mexican town. This production is filled with traditional music and the joy of the holiday season.
Director Griego says, “Having been in this show several times, I'm thrilled to bring it to the intimate space of the Vortex."
