The Trophy Cabinet by Declan Coyle
What does it take to be a hero? When an unassuming trophy maker, Roger, is visited by an old colleague, his past as a spy is brought back into the light. Roger must face the consequences of his past life, in a world that has moved forward. Actions from the past are reframed by the present as Roger’s wife and child are dragged into the chaos. How can Roger prove he is still the hero he always thought he was – and is that even possible anymore?

Hamstrung by George Rennie
‘Yorick is no more! And yet, I tread…’
The most famous court jester that never was is roused from the dead, as he is every time somebody stages The Tragedy of Hamlet. At first confused, his dawning realisation of where he is leads him to visit the world of the living, where he encounters a now grown Prince in a great deal of misery. Unable to contend with a world without laughter, he sets out to bring the spark of theatrical joy back to the Danish court, reconnecting with his lost love of performance whilst accidentally leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.
Hamstrung is a one-person, interactive Shakespearean ghost story about the space between live comedy and the afterlife.
Directed by Jimmy Fairhurst and starring Les Dennis as Malvolio, Not Too Tame return to the Shakespeare North Playhouse this summer, with an exciting new production of Twelfth Night.
