The Garrick hosts the return of this energetic 55-minute production from 24 November to 16 January, adapted and directed by Tall Stories duo Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell.

Since its 2001 premiere, this exuberant smash-hit production has been performed everywhere from Poland to Germany, from Australia to Hong Kong and Singapore, from Dubai to Chile, from Broadway to Alaska. In the UK the Gruffalo has even been seen on the summer Festival circuit playing in front of 16,000 people at Camp Bestival.

This run marks The Gruffalo's 3rd return to the West End, where it has become a regular Christmas feature.

Ilustrated by Axel Scheffler, Donaldson's original book sold over 4 million copies in 38 languages, and is the subject of a star-studded BBC animation as seen over Christmas last year.

Follow the quick-thinking Mouse into the deep, dark wood in this magical and musical modern classic. Discover what happens when he comes face to face with wheeler-dealer Fox, an eccentric old Owl and a maraca-shaking Snake, and, of course the very creature he imagined.....the Gruffalo!

With uniquely physical and visually striking family shows, Tall Stories have made their mark in the West End, on Broadway and beyond. Previous successes include Snow White, Monster Hits and How the Giraffe got its Neck. The announcement of this West End Christmas season of The Gruffalo for 2010 comes as Tall Stories' successful run of another Julia Donaldson classic - Room on the Broom continues on a national tour culminating at the Northcott in Exeter this Christmas, with The Gruffalo's Child settling in for the holidays at the Leicester Curve and the Edinburgh Pleasance.
