According to rumours posted by dailymail.co.uk, the UK touring production of SOUTH PACIFIC might transfer to the West End early next Autumn. The show would run at the London Palladium, filling in the gap between the runs of THE WIZARD OF OZ and CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.

The Mail Online commented: "If it does happen, perhaps the producers would consider bringing over the set that was used in New York to replace the humdrum touring set they’ve got on the road now."

Set on a tropical island during World War II, SOUTH PACIFIC is the sweeping romantic story of two couples, threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an unfamiliar culture in wartime remains as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences.

The nationwide tour opened on 12 October in Milton Keynes.

The Lincoln Center Theater production of SOUTH PACIFIC is produced at the Barbican Centre and on tour by Bob Boyett, Bob Bartner, Howard Panter for the Ambassador Theatre Group, and Genesius Theatrical Productions in association with Promenade Productions.
