Original and New MISS SAIGON Stars to Unite for Gala Performance in September

MISS SAIGON made its highly anticipated return to London on May 21, 2014 at the Prince Edward Theatre, in the musical's 25th anniversary year. Now there is even more to look forward to, as the show just announced via Facebook that fans can register to see a special gala performance on September 22:

Cameron Mackintosh presents a Gala Performance of Boublil & Schönberg's Miss Saigon on Monday 22 September 2014 at 7pm, featuring the magnificent cast of the new production and members of the original company. All tickets for this Gala Performance will be at the original 1989 prices of: £22.50, £20.00, £16.50 and £13.50. Our fans will have the first opportunity to book when it goes on sale on Tuesday 26 August at 10am. The first Live Cast Recording of the entire show featuring the extraordinary 2014 company drawn from 18 countries goes on sale on Monday 22 September. It is released by Universal Music and First Night Records and will be available from iTunes, the Prince Edward Theatre and all good retailers.

Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's epic musical has played in 300 cities in 15 different languages, winning awards around the world since the sensational record-breaking run at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane 25 years ago. This epic love story tells the tragic tale of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with an American GI called Chris--but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.

MISS SAIGON has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jnr and Alain Boublil, adapted from original French lyrics by Alain Boublil with additional lyrics by Michael Mahler.

This new production is directed by Laurence Connor with musical staging by Bob Avian and additional choreography by Geoffrey Garratt, production design by Totie Driver and Matt Kinley based on an original concept by Adrian Vaux, costume design by Andreane Neofitou, lighting design byBruno Poet, sound design by Mick Potter, and orchestrations by William David Brohn. Musical supervision is byStephen Brooker and John Rigby. Musical direction is by Alfonso Casado Trigo.
