Dame Judi Dench & Sir Ian McKellen to Host 2015 Theatre Awards, Nov. 22

The London Evening Standard today announces that the 2015 Theatre Awards, in a partnership with The Ivy, takes place on Sunday 22 November at The Old Vic theatre.

The London Evening Standard announces co-hosting the theatre awards with the newspaper's owner, Evgeny Lebedev this year, are two of theatreland's leading actors - Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellen.

The new partnership between The Ivy and the London Evening Standard reflects a shared support for London's creative, theatrical talent. In addition to this partnership, one of the awards - the Editor's Award, will also be presented in partnership with The Ivy to an individual or organisation for an outstanding contribution to theatre at the discretion of the Evening Standard Editor. Previous winners have included Kevin Spacey and Michael Grandage. Urban Caprice, The Ivy's associated events company will be providing the catering in collaboration with Gary Lee, Executive Chef at The Ivy.

Additional supporters for this year's Theatre Awards include new partnerships with Christian Louboutin and Stanhope Plc.

This full list of this year's awards will include: Best Actor, Natasha Richardson Award for Best Actress, Best Play, Evening Standard Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical, Milton Shulman Award for Best Director, Best Design, Charles Wintour Award for Most Promising Playwright, Emerging Talent Award in partnership with Burberry, Editor's Award in partnership with The Ivy and Lebedev Award.

Owner of the London Evening Standard, Evgeny Lebedev said today, "In an iconic London venue, two giants of the acting profession - Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellen - will host a lavish celebration of the world's best theatrical talent. With the help of our generous sponsors, I am looking forward to making this the best Evening Standard Theatre Awards yet."

The Theatre Awards shortlist will be announced in early November.
