Singin' in the Rain is the story of that first Hollywood musical, the moment when the silver screen found its voice and never looked back. With all the sparkle and spectacle of a golden age, it features a glorious score including Make ‘em Laugh, Good Morning, Moses Supposes and, of course, Singin' in the Rain.

Today, weeks before the production marks its closing night on September 10th, The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye revealed that talks are in place for the production to make a West End transfer.

Artistic Director Jonathan Church's productions for Chichester include The Real Inspector Hound and The Critic, The Grapes of Wrath, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby and Pravda. Andrew Wright choreographs and Adam Cooper plays Don Lockwood. Cooper's theatre includes White Christmas, Soldier's Tale, On Your Toes, Singin' in the Rain, The Wizard of Oz and Zorro. As a member of the Royal Ballet Company (1989-97) his numerous credits include Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake. Daniel Crossley (Me and My Girl, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Snow Queen, Hello, Dolly!, Mary Poppins, Doctors, Heartbeat, Coronation Street) plays Cosmo and Scarlett Strallen (Festival 08's The Music Man, Passion (Donmar), Mary Poppins (New York), The Merry Wives of Windsor (RSC), The Shawl (Canal Café), HMS Pinafore, Twelfth Night, Cymbeline (Regent's Park)) plays Kathy Seldon.

The production is reportedly eyeing the Palace Theatre for an opening early next year. Read the Daily Mail article here.
