Daniel Boys is the latest West End star putting together a cabaret - playing the Delfont Room on 28th August, and featuring some very special theatrical guests...

Excited that @thedavidhunter, @Laurensamuels88 and @RebeccaLock22 are all joining me for my cabaret at The Delfont Room. Book your tickets!

"I haven't done a cabaret of my own for a while, actually, so it felt like the right time," he says. "I jumped at the chance."

It's one of the newly popular late-night shows ("some of my friends who aren't in the business have said, '11pm? I'll be asleep by then!") which means that not only can he invite some West End folk to perform with him, they can also come along to see it.

"It's a great chance for people to come along after their evening show," he says.

As for the material, there'll be some of his own self-penned material, and he's working with his musical director to put a few ideas together.

"I like to sing songs that people don't know or haven't heard for some time," he explains. "I try to pick songs that mean something to me and have affected me somehow."

He's cagey about the exact songlist, but hints that there'll be some pop material, plus something from Rent as well as a selection from Love Story, which he starred in alongside Lauren Samuels at the Octagon.

"It's a stunning score - and probably one of my favourite jobs I've done," he says. "I felt like I'd done something really special and unique. It was a joy to be a part of it."

For those who couldn't make it to Bolton, but were fans of the original West End production, you'll be glad to know Boys and Samuels also made their pasta dinner on stage.

"Because it was in the round, we couldn't have a stove, but we chopped lots of vegetables and made pasta in a pasta machine!" he says.

And for those who enjoyed his debut album 'So Close' but can't make it to London for this cabaret, he's hoping to do a few solo shows around the UK - and there's some exciting recording news as well.

"I'm going to be setting up a Kickstarter to do a second album," he adds, "and that'll be happening very soon!"
