The hunt for the UK's sexiest moustache came to a climax at the Gielgud Theatre on Monday November 30th, as the winner was revealed at a special performance of Avenue Q, on the last day of Movember.

The stalls were filled with Mo Bros and Mo Sistas on the night of the 30th as over 200 mustachioed men awaited the verdict of Avenue Q's favourite flouncer, Rod, who has spent the last month pounding the streets hunting down moustachioed men and pouring over images of men's moustaches into the small hours at home.

At the end of the show, Radio 1's Scott Mills joined Rod on stage, as they invited the winner Dan Weill and two runners-up on stage to show their mo to the boys, the rest of the cast and the whole audience, and for the winner to receive their special prize from Rod.

Rod says: "I have long admired a man with a mo. The droopier and more well hung the better. I am thrilled that hot Scott is helping raise awareness of this important men's health issue. I'm also indulging in a long held fantasy of being a Celebrity Judge (eat your heart out Louis Walsh!). It's been hard work looking at the 45,000 individual UK Movember participants this year, but I've enjoyed it."

To date, Movember has raised over £30 million globally for the fight against prostate cancer and depression in men. This year, more than 250,000 globally are taking part, with 45,000 Mo Bros raising more than £2.5 million in the UK alone so far.

Described as "Witty, catchy and darn charming", Avenue Q ingeniously combines a cast of humans and puppets who tackle subjects such as dating, racism, internet porn, being gay and finding your purpose in life. The show has enjoyed enormous success, both on Broadway and in London, proving to be the perfect musical for our time, especially during an economic crisis. The combination of accessible prices and a hilarious night out has proved to be the perfect recipe for an audience hungry for escapism.
