Imagination Stage is offering new, exciting, and creative opportunities this Winter/Spring semester, which continue to inspire creativity through theatre arts classes that nurture, challenge, and empower young people of all abilities. The Winter/Spring 2014-2015 agenda features Into the Woods as the IStage Performance Ensemble production, the 1st Annual Play Off, and thrilling new classes beginning January 17.

Registration for the Winter/Spring semester is available online at www.imaginationstage.org, over the phone at 301-280-1636, or in-person at our Bethesda location, 4908 Auburn Avenue. Fourteen-Week classes and Winter Six-Week Session begins January 17; Spring Six-Week Session begins March 14.

Winter Break Arts Blast camps are available for students Ages 3.5 to Grade 5 on December 29 and 30, 2014, and January 2, 2015. These daytime jam-packed days of creative drama, acting, movement, visual art, and specialty classes bring tons of fun to the dreariness of December! Also this Winter, Imagination Stage is hosting its 1st Annual Play Off competition for Grades 6-8 and 9-12. Actors may register in teams or as individuals and work towards producing a 10-minute play, all within 24 hours!

The upcoming semester schedule features new and exciting classes to engage students of all ages and levels of expertise. Newly themed classes include: You and Me: Creating with Color (12-36 mos), Angelina Ballerina (Ages 3-4), Creative Drama: Shel Silverstein (Grades K-1), and Creative Drama: Adventures of Dr. Who (Grades 2-3).

This semester only, students in Grades 9-12 are eligible to audition for the Winter IStage Performance Ensemble. Solely comprised of student actors, this ensemble will bring to life Stephen Sondheim's acclaimed musical Into the Woods. The musical, on Broadway in 1987 and 2002, intertwines the plot of classic fairy tales with a modern twist, following characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Cinderella. Students perform on The Lerner Family Theatre stage, the same stage as the professional productions of the 2014-15 Season.

WINTER/SPRING CLASS FACTS

Winter Break Arts Blast Camps: Dec. 29 and 30, and Jan. 2 from 9:00-12:00 (Ages 3.5-5) and from 9:00-3:30 (Grades K-5).

Winter/Spring Semester Classes: 14-Week Classes and Winter 6-Week Sessions begin January 17; Spring 6-Week Session begins March 14.
