For the past 15 years, Guillotine Theatre (formerly The Georgetown Theatre Company) has presented readings from the works of Edgar Allen Poe at Grace Church, in Georgetown. Last year, the troupe also performed at the Athenaeum, an historic building in Old Town Alexandria. This year, they have been invited to perform in an empty burial vault in historic Ivy Hill Cemetery, in the Rosemont district of Alexandria. The two Alexandria events are called Tales of Mystery and the Imagination, NOT Halloween in Georgetown.

Tales of Mystery and the Imagination:

Thursday, October 17 at 8:00pm at the Athenaeum in Old Town Alexandria (201 Prince Street, Alexandria VA 22314)

Friday, October 18 at 7:30pm in the receiving vault at Ivy Hill Cemetery (2823 Kings Street, Alexandria, VA 22302)

Halloween in Georgetown:

Saturday, October 19, at 8:00 pm at Grace Church (1041 Wisconsin Ave, NW, WDC 20007)

Actors from Guillotine Theatre will communicate with the spirits and read a witches' brew of poems and short stories by Edgar Allan Poe, including The Cask of Amontillado, The Raven, The Tell Tale Heart and others.

A Horrors d'oeuvre Reception will follow each reading with goodies and coffee.

A $10 donation is requested.
