On July 16 and 17, 2009, the New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, sponsored by Target and MetLife Foundation, brought the Orchestra to the Bronx and back to Manhattan. Alan Gilbert, who will become the Orchestra’s Music Director in September 2009, conducted and was joined by baritone Nathan Gunn in Central Park. An online photo album captures the excitement.

The concert, which took place in Central Park, was attended by an estimated 80,000 people.
