A comedic show based on Dante's Inferno by Oscar-winning Italian actor and filmmaker Roberto Benigni may be Broadway-bound, according to a Reuters article.

The article states that the show is Benigni's "one-man comic rendition of the medieval Italian epic poem -- TuttoDante (Everything About Dante)."  "We have had a lot of requests to bring it abroad, even on Broadway in America...We are thinking about it," stated Begnini at a news conference.

Dante's Inferno is famous part of his three part 14th century spiritual epic poem The Divine Comedy.

Benigni won an Oscar for his performance in his tragiccomic 1994 film La Vita è bella (Life is Beautiful), which he co-wrote and directed.  The hit movie also won Best Foreign Language Film. Other films include La Tigre et la neve (The Tiger and the Snow), Coffee and Cigarettes, Pinocchio, and Il Mostro.
