Variety reports that the Old Vic production of the Eugene O'Neill classic A Moon for the Misbegotten, which stars Kevin Spacey and which recently opened to strong reviews in London, may rise over Broadway.

"(Producer Elliot Martin) and I are planning to bring it in, subject to Kevin's decision," stated producer Ben Sprecher, who will travel to London next week for production negotiations.  Spacey's schedule is clear in case of a possible transfer, although A Moon for the Misbegotten would not come to Broadway any earlier than April of 2007 due to co-star Eve Best's engagement to play Rosalind in a UK production of As You Like It.

A Moon for the Misbegotten, directed by Howard Davies, opened at the Old Vic on September 26th, after beginning previews on September 15th.  It runs through December 23rd.  The play, which concerns the romance between quick-witted farmer's daughter Josie Hogan and alcoholic third-rate actor Jim Tyrone, garnered much acclaim upon opening--even from critics who had previously been skeptical of Spacey's work as the Old Vic's artistic director.  The actor also won raves for his performance as Tyrone.

Davies previously directed Spacey--who has won two Oscars for American Beauty and The Usual Suspects--in an acclaimed 1999 revival of O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh.
