Little Bulb Theatre presents Wail as part of Jacksons Lane Spring Season at Jacksons Lane, 269a Archway Road, London N6 5AA, Thursday 2nd - Saturday 4th March 2017, 8pm.

Why do whales sing? Why do humans wail?

Last year, Little Bulb Theatre embarked on a quest to discover the answers to these perplexing questions and more. Now, they share their findings in an aquatic cabaret of songs, science and soundscapes with chances to win cheap prizes galore! There will even be a surprise special guest who only has limited time away from their ocean home.

With live songs and comedy moments, Little Bulb Theatre return to their lo-fi roots (comparable to that of Operation Greenfield) in this haphazard two-hander that's sure to be a whale of a time. Part gig, part lecture, part your lips and WAIL!

Wail was developed in partnership with Nuffield Theatre Southampton, using scientific research from Southampton University on sound and vibration.

Wail comes to Jacksons Lane as part of a national tour including arts centres and studios in Salisbury, Aldershot, Plymouth, Canterbury, Lincoln and Farnham.

Scientists still don't know why whales sing - still less why their songs are so complex and collective - but we've a good idea about why humans do. That, really, is what Little Bulb are out to explore in this kooky, but infectious, piece of gig theatre (What's On Stage).

Jacksons Lane Artistic director, Adrian Berry comments, Little Bulb first visited us with a run of sell out shows in 2012 so it's great to welcome them back. We're huge fans of their inventiveness and absurd humour.
