Celtic Kiss Productions will present the world premiere of Eamon McDonnell's THE GIFT beginning on 10/4. Directed by Dimitry Devdariani, THE GIFT will open at the Greenwich Playhouse.

THE GIFT is a one act drama, set in the borderlands of the Irish countryside. When Ned, a widowed farmer, meets the reticent Belfast stranger Callum impending forces are brought to life revealing dark secrets each man finds incapable of extinguishing from their being.

The cast includes Philip Philmar, who has worked on Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd" and recent television includes Sky's "The Colour of Magic," Victoria Johnston, whose stage work includes RAINA, ARMS AND THE MAN and SAFE HOUSE at the 2009 Camden Fringe Festival, Georgina Bryce, whose work includes the film "Mutant Chronicles", and onstage in YELENA, UNCLE VANYA and Lady Macbeth in MACBETH, and Christopher Prior, who recently played Lophakin in THE CHERRY ORCHARD and Goldberg in THE BIRTHDAY PARTY.

Director Dimitry Devdariani says, "I adored ‘The Gift' when I read it. The story of two lonely men who struggle to become friends despite the haunting of their separate pasts. Both past and present weave inextricably in the play where our safe and familiar logic no longer applies. It is both highly lyrical and shockingly dark." Dimitry's recent productions include A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING as Roger Mayhew and UNCLE VANYA.

The technical team includes set designer Lili Barcroft, who recently worked on REMODELLED LIVES and THE GARDEN and costume designer Stephen du Toit, most recently from DAVID COPPERFIELD and UNCLE VANYA.

Eamon McDonnell writes original, challenging drama often with a broadly humorous streak. Much of his work has been staged or showcased in the UK. His SAFE HOURSE was a sell-out success at this year's Camden Fringe. He writes feature films and has created original drama ideas for TV production companies. He also lectures in screenwriting.

Celtic Kiss Productions is a company whose aim is supporting and showcasing new talent through high quality productions in all areas of the performing Arts.
