Birmingham Hippodrome prides itself on providing the ultimate overall theatre experience for its patrons and this Christmas will be no different as the UK's most popular theatre raises the curtain on a host of additional performers, sculptures and spectacles for the entire family.

Visitors to the venue from 1 December– 26 December will be surprised and dazzled by additional sprinkles of magic in and around the building before and after the performances of Birmingham Royal Ballet's stunning production of Cinderella (until Saturday 9 December) and Britain's biggest Panto, Robinson Crusoe & the Caribbean Pirates starring Brian Conley & Lesley Joseph (from Saturday 15 December ).

Pop-up performances include a heavenly host of 'Guardian Angels' fast tracking the queue at the bar and guiding lost souls to their seats.  Following on from this year's Six Summer Saturdays 'The Reds' make a return by popular demand as the sculptural flash mob spread their love, magical gifts and seasonal cheer.

Outside the theatre's main entrance a glowing bauble lights the starry winter sky encouraging theatre-goers and passersby to interact with this giant sculpture, 'Lightweight'. Members of the public are invited to take a snapshot of their face to become a cherub that flies across the night sky projected onto the surface of the giant orb.

On Saturday 15 & Saturday 22 December join Santa in the 'Southside South Pole' as he hands out gifts to good boys and girls whilst a glowing pirate flag made completely of ice sets the scene for the swashbuckling panto inside the main auditorium (organised by Southside BID).

And from 15 December – 26 December audiences can expect a special surprise as they exit the theatre onto the main piazza in Hurst Street ... but that's all the theatre's is saying, a surprise not worth spoiling!

Birmingham Hippodrome is an independent, unsubsidised registered charity (No. 510842) with a volunteer Board of Trustees.  It welcomes an average 500,000 visitors annually making it the single most popular theatre in the UK, turning over around £20m.

Birmingham Hippodrome is home to the acclaimed Birmingham Royal Ballet and DanceXchange.  Its stages the world's largest pantomime productions and is the first English home of Welsh National Opera who perform all of their repertory at the theatre.
