This Fringe the exciting new company The Keeper's Daughter hit Brighton with a thrilling new comedy sci-fi Beauty's Legacy, a modern day adaptation of the classic thriller Frankenstein. Bringing comedy, drama and a little bit of medical madness to the Dukebox Theatre between Saturday 3 - Monday 5 May and Friday 30 - Saturday 31 May. 'There can be few small theatre companies around today able to rival the wit, originality and vigour of The Keeper's Daughter.' Diss Express on Dracula!

Part Bladerunner, part Frankenstein, part Slimming World! Beauty's Legacy is a sci-fi comedy/drama about revered geneticist Victor, who, using his maladjusted lab assistant as a guinea pig, creates the most beautiful, stylish and vain monster the world has ever seen. This sets off a whirlwind of events that threaten to tear apart his career, his marriage and all known society.

Utilizing a strong visual style and an electronic soundtrack by Brighton pop noir soulsters Mirrors, Beauty's Legacy rips through media culture, tears open financially obsessed societies and examines the value of the legacy we leave behind. Developed over the last few years by LAMDA graduates Mark Finbow and Simon Anthony Rhoden this part-devised, part-scripted piece uses The Keeper's Daughter's signature mix of humour, physical theatre, improvisation and shadow play set to an electronic soundtrack.

Beauty's Legacy has been selected by a panel of industry experts for inclusion in WINDOW.

'Going to see a production by The Keeper's Daughter is like walking a tightrope: gripping, dangerous, slightly insane and extraordinarily entertaining. Theatre should always be this vital and thrilling. Long may they continue.'
