The Santa Paula Theater Center is offering a 6-week series of Readers' Theater Classes under the direction of Judy Blake at their Back Stage space at 125 So. 7th St. (corner of Main and 7th) February 20-March 26, 2016, 10 am-12:30 pm on Saturdays. A culminating performance is included in the series. Reservations for the series can be made directly through Leslie Nichols at 805.525.9840 or by contacting the theater at 805.525.4645 or www.santapaulatheatercenter.org for more information. The fee is $60.00 for the six classes and participants are encouraged to commit to the full series. Open to ages 11 and up.

Readers' Theater techniques allow the opportunity to develop characters, tell stories, and develop creative expression without the encumbrance of memorization and long rehearsal periods. These skills can fulfill a creative urge to perform, and can be translated to job skills, interviews, and personal confidence in the outside world. Classes are open to experienced actors and community members who have always wished to go on stage, but simply don't have the time in a busy life to devote to a full run play.

Judy Blake, new to Ventura County and scheduled to direct CALENDAR GIRLS by Tim Firth later in the Santa Paula Theater Center's Season of Masters, brings years of expertise in this field of Readers' Theater. She welcomes and brings success to all ages and levels of experience and encourages newcomers to sign up for this fulfilling exploration.
