In celebration of their 20th Anniversary Season, the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center brings back the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof from September 12 - October 18, 2015. With performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm as well as Thursdays at 8 pm on October 8 and 15, Fiddler on the Roof will make a third run at the Cultural Arts Center, having previously played in May of 2004 and September of 2006.

According to David Ralphe, General Manager of the Cultural Arts Center as well as Director of Fiddler on the Roof, "This is the most requested show in the history of our theater," adding, "It only made sense to bring it back for our 20th Anniversary Season." Ralphe added, "With the amount of pre-sale from groups for this run we anticipate that once again Fiddler on the Roof will be a resounding success for SVCAC."

Directed by David Ralphe and choreographed by Becky Castells, Fiddler on the Roof is being musically directed by Maize Wilson and features a set designed by Seth Kamenow. Lighting Design will be by Gary A. Mintz with Sound and Projection Designs by Chris Grote. Lori Lee Gordon is designing costumes with producers David Ralphe and Fred Helsel leading the production team.

Helsel also leads the cast in the pivotal role of Tevye, one he also portrayed in the earlier two SVCAC presentations of the show. Joining him as his wife, Golde is Sharon Gibson and daughters Tzeitel, Hodel, Chava, Shprintze and Bielke will be played by Madeline Fanton, Jennifer Ridgway, Katie Hume, Joey Maya and Samantha Hirschhorn, respectively. Andrew Allen will be playing Perchik, with Luke Leard as Fyedka. Tom Puckett takes on the role of the Rabbi with Jared Price playing his son Mendel. Newcomers to the SVCAC stage, Janee Hull and Carla Bambo, will play the "ghost" roles of Fruma Sarah and Grandma Tzeitel. For over fifty years, Fiddler on the Roof has captured the hearts of people all over the world with its humor, warmth and honesty. Based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, the universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion. In the Little Village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor milkman is trying to keep his family's traditions in place. Yet, times are changing. And when Tevye's daughters want to make their own matches, he must choose between his own daughters' happiness and those beloved traditions that keep the outside world at bay. Yet it is Tevye's love of his family, pride and faith that help him face the dangerous force in Anatevka which threaten to destroy the very life he and his fellow villagers are trying to preserve.

Filled with such classics as "If I Were a Rich Man", "Sunrise, Sunset", "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" and, of course "Tradition", Fiddler on the Roof remains one of the world's most beloved shows. No other musical has so magically woven music, dance, poignancy and laughter into such an electrifying and unforgettable experience.

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center is proud to present Fiddler on the Roof as part of its Twentieth Anniversary Season starting on September 12 and running through October 18 with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm and two special Thursday performances at 8:00 pm on October 8 and 15.
