The Board of Directors of Cabrillo Music Theatre has announced that the company has secured donations from members of the community, which will allow it to continue production of the 2016-2017 season!

After recently announcing the suspension of production due to a lack of resources, these contributions will provide Cabrillo with the ability to retool the organization, to engage in a new focus and strategy, and to move into the future in a fiscally responsible way. The Board of Directors is committed to taking these opportunities- a reduced 2016-2017 schedule, a substantial infusion of resources, and an energized and passionate community - to design a Cabrillo Music Theatre for the future.

As part of our transition, and in order to protect from potential losses, Cabrillo Music Theatre has chosen to remove the production of TARZAN in the Scherr Forum from the season schedule. Remaining intact is the rest of the extraordinary 2016-2017 lineup: EVITA, SISTER ACT, and PETER PAN, all in the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre. The streamlined production schedule will allow the Board and Staff of Cabrillo to build on a strategy of engaging new community support for the organization in both fundraising and marketing of this professional, non-profit community-based theatre group.

We wish to thank the City of Thousand Oaks for cooperating with us in this effort to keep Cabrillo Music Theatre alive and thriving at the Civic Arts Plaza. With the help of the community, we plan to ensure a better and stronger Cabrillo Music Theatre, keeping "Broadway in Your Backyard" for years to come!
