Delight your senses with the acclaimed Enigma Quartet, an ensemble "that continues to win accolades for the beauty and intensity of its performances" (Musica Viva).

With the cooler weather comes a series of four tasty, toasty concerts at the spectacular and acoustically perfect Independent Theatre, North Sydney, featuring the Enigma Quartet, the Flinders Quartet, the Marais Project and more. Each takes place on the third Sunday of the month, May to August and all include complimentary refreshments at intermission.

The acclaimed ENIGMA QUARTET present the first sweet afternoon of musical delicacies as they offer their favourite encores by Kreisler, Massenet, Debussy, Satie, Elgar and many more. The first half of the programme features Mozart's classical masterpiece, the quartet no. 17 in B-flat major K 458, nicknamed the 'Hunt'. The second half follows up with a fabulous feast of musical bonbonnieres that will captivate all with enchanting melodies, old-world charm, nostalgic sentiment and petite perfection!

From its humble origins as four music students busking on the streets of Sydney, the last decade has seen the Enigma Quartet establish a reputation as one of the country's brightest and most versatile professional young string quartets. This intrepid foursome of Marianne Broadfoot, Kerry Martin (violins), Elizabeth Woolnough (guest viola) and Rowena Macneish (cello) is united by friendship and a shared passion for chamber music and live performance. Enigma made their Huntington Festival debut in 2014, and were invited to perform in Musica Viva's Coffee Concert Series in 2015 and 2013. enigmaquartet.com
