After a run of hot shows for the Australia now festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Circus Oz will returns to the main stage in Adelaide for the first time in ten years with a raucous new show entitled TWENTYSIXTEEN.

TWENTYSIXTEEN will play for three performances only in Thebarton Theatre on 30 July at 7.30 pm and 31 July at 12.30pm and 6.00pm with all proceeds going to support nature conservation. Tickets go on sale on Monday 16 May through Ticketmaster.

TWENTYSIXTEEN is a refreshing two-hour cocktail of new and old; high-voltage acrobatics and explosive aerial antics; innovation and tradition all accompanied by the sensational Circus Oz band. This is classic Circus Oz: absurd Australian larrikins pushing the boundaries of possibility, and defying the laws of physics.

Circus Oz guest show director for 2016 Anni Davey said, 'The circus exists in everyone's imagination and for some people that imaginary space is their real world. In the circus there is no editing, no replay button, no seven-second delay, no CGI, no sequencing, no sampling, no trickery - it is just really great tricks. The circus is real people doing extraordinary stuff. It's inspiring to watch because it pushes people to question what is possible. Our new show TWENTYSIXTEEN is straight up Circus Oz - a show for everybody, cheeky, irreverent and hilarious!'

NFSA President Bob Lott said, 'Just as everyone who sees Circus Oz are amazed at its unbelievable performance skills, Nature Foundation SA (NFSA) is similarly amazed at the generosity of Circus Oz in allowing NFSA to benefit from the proceeds of its three shows in Thebarton Theatre. Proceeds will be used to continue the wonderful work in saving, protecting and restoring our South Australia's unique Flora and Fauna.

'Celebrating its 35th year, NFSA has been involved in the purchase of forty nine properties resulting in an area the size of Yorke Peninsula being dedicated as Conservation Parks in South Australia, the watering of thirty private and community wetlands along our mighty River Murray and the awarding of 350 post-graduate scholarships to young ecologists. NFSA is really proud to work with the mighty Circus Oz to raise money to continue its valuable contribution to the health of future generations.'

Credited with revitalising a traditional art form in a uniquely Australian way, Circus Oz is a rock 'n' roll, animal-free circus that has influenced the development of circus arts around the world since its foundation in 1978. Circus Oz undertook it's first and critically praised international tour in 1980 and has continued touring to more than 100 cities and regions in 27 countries, playing to more than 4 million people.

Tickets for TWENTYSIXTEEN are $60 adult; $35 child; $55 concession and $160 family (2+2) and may be purchased through Ticketmaster and Thebarton Theatre from Monday 16 May.
