Florida Studio Theatre's Summer Cabaret Season will present the best of Sammy Cahn in "Come Fly With Me!" The Sammy Cahn Songbook, the interactive sleight of hand show, The CardShark, and the energetic and inventive female trio, The GiGi's.

The Summer Cabaret Season opens June 14 and plays through September 25 in the John C. Court Cabaret. A subscription to all three shows can be purchased for as little as $39. All subscriptions and single tickets may be purchased at the FST Box Office in person or by calling (941) 366-9000 or online at www.FloridaStudioTheatre.org.

Opening the Summer Cabaret Series is "Come Fly With Me!" The Sammy Cahn Songbook. Featuring songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Mario Lanza, Doris Day, Bing Crosby, Jo Stafford and more. "Come Fly With Me!" celebrates the most recorded songwriter of the 20th century with songs such as "Come Fly with Me," "Three Coins in the Fountain," "High Hopes," and "All the Way." "It's great because we've never actually done the Sammy Cahn songbook. This is a group of actors/singers from New York that have put this all together. We forget just how many songs Sammy Cahn actually wrote," said Hopkins. Come Fly With Me! The Sammy Cahn Songbook will be playing in the Court Cabaret from June 14 to July 17.

Ready to get swindled Sarasota? Next in the season is The CardShark. A live, interactive,
sleight-of-hand show. Jason Michaels will pull back the curtain on how he can amaze and deceive, as audiences dive deeply into the art of illusion. Having spent time in casinos from Las Vegas to Atlantic City, he highlights the skills he uses to eliminate the advantage that casinos typically have. Getting swindled has never been this much fun. According to Hopkins, "Jason has a charisma with the audience. He's literally showing them his tricks with his sleeves rolled up. His sense of storytelling makes him a great fit for the Cabaret stage." The CardShark will be playing in the Court Cabaret from July 19 - August 21.

Rounding out the Summer Cabaret Series is the amazing trio, The GiGi's, singing the best hits of female artists from the 60s through today! Featuring artists such as The Supremes, Carole King, Wilson Philips, and Meghan Trainor with songs such as "Stop In The Name Of Love," "I Feel The Earth Move," "Hold On," and "All About That Bass." The GiGi's will be playing in the Court Cabaret from August 23 to September 25.

All three shows of the Summer Cabaret Series - "Come Fly With Me!" The Sammy Cahn Songbook, The CardShark, and The GiGi's - will be presented at FST's John C. Court Cabaret. Single tickets range from $32 - $36. A subscription for all three shows can be purchased for as little as $39. Both subscription tickets and single tickets may be purchased from the FST Box Office in person or by calling (941) 366-9000 or online at www.FloridaStudioTheatre.org.

Known as Sarasota's Contemporary Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre was founded in 1973 by Artist, Jon Spelman. Starting out as a small touring company, FST traveled to places such as migrant camps and prisons. The company then acquired the former Woman's Club building, becoming the first permanent venue. Shortly after Producing Artistic Director, Richard Hopkins arrived, the building was purchased and renamed The Keating Theatre. In the years that followed, Florida Studio Theatre established itself as a major force in American Theatre, presenting contemporary theatre in its five theatre venues: the Keating Theatre, the Gompertz Theatre, the Parisian style Goldstein Cabaret and John C. Court Cabaret, and Bowne's Lab Theatre.

Even with its growth, Florida Studio Theatre remains firmly committed to making the arts accessible and affordable to a broad-based audience. FST develops theatre that speaks to our living, evolving, and dynamically changing world. As FST grows and expands, it continues to provide audiences with challenging, contemporary drama and innovative programs.
