STAGES ST. LOUIS continues its tradition of presenting Broadway-quality children's theatre in its sixth year of the STAGES Theatre for Young Audiences Program with Disney's The Aristocats. The musical adapted from the hit Disney film will run from August 4th through 15th at The Robert G. Reim Theatre in Kirkwood.

Set in post-World War II France but boasting a jazzy beat, The Aristocats features the music and lyrics of the Sherman Brothers, Richard and Robert, who brought us such entertaining music in Disney classics like Mary Poppins, The Parent Trap, The Jungle Book, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and so many more.

STAGES is known for bringing Broadway-quality musical theatre to St. Louis, and through the Theatre for Young Audiences Program brings that same commitment to children's theatre.

"It's important to the future of this art to introduce theatre to children at a young age, so we create theatre advocates early," said Jack Lane, STAGES' Executive Producer. "We're delighted to see our audiences filled with young faces, many of them in costume matching the actors on the stage. It's fun for kids and parents alike."

Direction and choreography are by Stephen Bourneuf and musical direction by Al Fischer. Completing the artistic team are scenic designer Mark Halpin, costume designer John Inchiostro, lighting designer Matthew McCarthy and orchestral designer Stuart Elmore.

Appearing in the ensemble cast are St. Louisan and Kevin Kline Award Winner and lead actor in the STAGES hit Promises, Promises Ben Nordstrom, Kevin Kline Award Winner David Schmittou as Thomas O'Malley, the quick-thinking alley cat who rescues the Duchess, played by Pamela Reckamp and her Aristokitties - played by Kyle Gunby, Lisa Christine Fahey, and St. Louisan John Kinney.

The Aristocats  will run for two weeks with matinee performances Wednesdays - Sundays at 11:00am. For more information and to purchase tickets call 314-821-2407 or visit www.stagesstlouis.org. Tickets are $15 for children and $17 for adults, with numerous special single ticket and subscription rates available. STAGES performs in the intimate, 384-seat Robert G. Reim Theatre at the Kirkwood Civic Center, 111 South Geyer Road, 63122.

The recipient of twenty Kevin Kline Awards over the past five years, six in 2010, STAGES was founded in 1987 and has become the leading company for musical theatre performance and education in the Midwest.
