Ten years after their last album, the pianist Roger Mas takes over the reins of the trio that was originally headed by drummer Marc Ayza, and presents The Call from the Past. Mas, one of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation, and a prolific composer, delivers in the 10 original songs that make up this album a very personal and completely contemporary jazz sound, and puts it at the service of an indefatigable trio that have maintained their energy and complicity. The Call from the Past had the special collaboration of the singer Laia Cagigal, who lends the warmth of her voice to four of the compositions. The perfect complement to an album that confirms the solid career of this trio and their limitless future.
