A union between Malay and Indonesian dance in a contemporary setting, Berkaca Dalam Diri brings together the exquisite choreographies of Osman Abdul Hamid (artistic director of Era Dance Theatre) and Bimo Wiwohatmo (artistic director of Bimo Dance Theater), and the entrancing mnemonic sounds of Izumi Nagano (resident composer at Bimo Dance Theater) in one enchanting piece.
Thirteen years since their first collaboration on the critically acclaimed Perjalanan – An Inner Odyssey that premiered at the Singapore Arts Festival in 2001, Osman and Bimo reunites to create yet another work that expands the Malay and Indonesian dance vocabularies.
