If/Then Photos - US Tour

IF/THEN, which was named the 'Best Musical of the Year' by New York Magazine, will play its final Broadway performance Today, Sunday, March 22 at 3:00pm. Upon closing, the musical will have played 29 previews and 401 performances. Below, take a look back at the show's journey to Broadway!

Today, Actors' Equity Association named IF/THEN the recipient of the 'Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway' Award for the 2013-14 theatrical season. The award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre. Accepting the award on behalf of the IF/THEN producers and creative team was the production's Casting Director, Bernard Telsey. Scroll down for a photo!

If/Then opened last week at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway, with Tony winner Idina Menzel leading the cast, which also features Anthony Rapp, LaChanze, James Snyder, Jerry Dixon,Jenn Colella, Jason Tam, Tamika Lawrence, and Jackie Burns. If/Then is a contemporary new musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in this city of infinite possibilities. When her carefully designed plans collide with the whims of fate, Elizabeth's life splits into two parallel paths. If/Thenfollows both stories simultaneously as this modern woman faces the intersection of choice and chance.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, MASTERWORKS BROADWAY will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of If/Then. Produced by Steve Epstein, Tom Kitt and David Stone, the album was recorded yesterday, April 7 in anticipation of a June 3, 2014 release. The cast and creative team of IF/THEN was at MSR Recording Studios in New York City today to work on the show's Original Broadway Cast Recording, which will be released by Masterworks Broadway on June 3, 2014. Idina Menzel, star of stage and screen, posed for this week's cover of Billboard Magazine - which declared her to be 'The (Not So) New 'It' Girl'. 'It' girl is spot on - Menzel's performance of Let it Go from the hit movie Frozen just recently cracked the Top 10 on Billboard's own Hot 100 chart, and Menzel recently returned to Broadway for the first time since her Tony Award-winning performance as Elphaba in Wicked.

The theatre world is still getting over John Travolta butchering Tony-winner Idina Menzel's name on Sunday's Oscar broadcast. If you missed it, Travolta, who was introducing Menzel's performance of the Academy Award-winning 'Let It Go' from Frozen, instead welcomed 'Adele Dazeem' to the stage.
