James Lapine (Co-Author/Director), William Finn (Author) Spencer Liff (Choreographer) and Jordan Roth (Producer) joined the company of the national tour of The Lincoln Center Theater production of FALSETTOS, produced by Jujamcyn Theaters and NETworks Presentations. on stage at the Official Press Opening in San Francisco's SHN Golden Gate Theatre Wednesday, March 20. To commemorate the event, the entire company celebrated at a post-show reception held at Chambers.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, presents the world premiere musical, The Royal Family of Broadway. Previews began June 7, and the show officially opens tonight, June 13. Performances run through July 7 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage (30 Union Street).

Ghostlight Records has announced it will record the New York City Center production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's musical Brigadoon, for a new cast recording to be released this fall. Brigadoon has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Starring Kelli O'Hara, Patrick Wilson and Stephanie J. Block, the show features The Encores! Mazel Tov! The Jule Styne Celebration Continues! The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, presents the rarely-seen musical Bar Mitzvah Boy, with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Tony and Oscar winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard), and book by Jack Rosenthal (Yentl), as adapted by David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys), the second of three shows in the Winter 2018 Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of composer Jule Styne. Performances began February 10, 2018 for 11 performances only through Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). Several weeks ago, in my review of Baldwin Wallace University's production of WEST SIDE STORY I stated, 'BWU's Music Theater program is nationally recognized for its quality, as evidenced by the number of its graduates who have light up the Broadway theater scene and touring productions. Of those in the WEST SIDE STORY cast I stated: 'Broadway bound? Colton Ryan, though not the tall macho leading man type, should find a place on the Great White Way in roles for the young, clean scrubbed type who have big voices.'

Opening night will be Thursday, October 27. The company will include Anthony Rosenthal (as Jason), Tracie Thoms(as Dr. Charlotte), Brandon Uranowitz (as Mendel), Betsy Wolfe (as Cordelia), Stephanie J. Block(as Trina), Christian Borle (as Marvin), and Andrew Rannells (as Whizzer).
