The Theatre Group at SBCC will start the season July 11-28, 2018 in the Garvin Theatre with the musical, GREASE.  Book, lyrics and music by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," presents the area premiere of YEAST NATION: THE TRIUMPH OF LIFE, the world's first bio-historical musical, a comic political thriller with book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, and music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann, the subversive geniuses behind the award-winning Broadway musical Urinetown, running May 31-June 23, 2018 at the Marcelle Theater in the Grand Center Arts District. 

From the creators of the Tony-Award winning The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and creative team behind the Tony-nominated 2014 Broadway revival of On The Town comes the World Premiere of The Royal Family of Broadway, a masterful musical comedy love letter to the Great White Way. North Carolina Theatre presents Monty Python's Spamalot, the first show of their 2016/17 Season. Leading the quest as 'King Arthur' is Jeff McCarthy (Broadway: Side Show, Chicago, Urinetown, Beauty and the Beast). The Ogunquit Playhouse is the first regional theatre in the country to produce the Tony Award-winning musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, onstage now through September 19, 2015. Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre will wrap up its 2014-2015 Season with the hilarious comedy Unnecessary Farce by Paul Slade Smith. The production will run July 15 through August 9, 2015. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast below!

?The Old Globe and Hartford Stage's co-production of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, will be choreographed by Peggy Hickey and directed by Hartford Stage Artistic Director and former Old Globe Shakespeare Festival Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak, who won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which made its world premiere at The Old Globe and Hartford Stage in 2013. The Hartford Stage engagement runs May 14 - June 14; The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on July 1 and run through August 2, with opening night on Thursday, July 9 at 8:00 p.m. Scroll down for a first look at the cast in action!

The new Broadway revival of On The Town welcomed 'SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE' winner and 'America's Favorite Dancer' Ricky Ubeda to the cast last night, February 27, 2015 for a limited engagement through April 26, 2015. Ubeda received the opportunity to join the cast as part of his prize for winning SYTYCD in September 2014.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents the holiday musical, Elf. Based on the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell, Elf has a book byThomas Meehan and Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Elf will be directed by Eric Ankrimand choreographed by Josh Rhodes. Elf will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater from tonight, November 26, 2014, through January 4, 2015. New York City is approximately 500 miles from Cleveland. People from the North Coast often make the trek there to partake in the shopping, dining, but most often, the theatre. In order to keep the locals abreast of the Great White Ways offerings, I review some of the shows. Here is a sampling of what's new on Broadway.

On October 20, 2014, Florence Lacey (Broadway's Follies, Evita and Signature's Sunset Boulevard), Megan Lawrence (Broadway's Hair and Signature's Cabaret), Jacquelyn Piro Donovan (Broadway's Les Miserables and Signature's The Witches of Eastwick), Natascia Diaz (Broadway's Man of La Mancha and Signature's The Threepenny Opera) and Nick Blaemire (Broadway's Godspell and Signature's Glory Days) performed alongside 75 Signature Theatre artists and an 18-piece orchestra as Virginia's Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre celebrated its 25th Anniversary. With performances from 27 shows over the last 25 years, including Sweeney Todd, The Rhythm Club, Urinetown, The Boy Detective Fails, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Dreamgirls, Chess, and many more.
