Bare Photos - Off-Broadway

The show that made great Off-Broadway success arrives in Sao Paulo and wins a Brazilian version with known names in the Brazilian musical theater scene. In an independent production financed with a crowdfunding campaign, bare (na pele) makes its opening on October 31, at Teatro Augusta.

The Baxter Theatre Centre's smash hit production of MIES JULIE, which took Edinburgh by storm in 2012, returns to the Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival this month following its unprecedented international success. Written and directed by Yael Farber, the production joins an impressive line-up of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions from the  Baxter.

AFTER HOURS THETRE COMPANY (who most recently produced I Love You Because) present, from the Academy Award-winning musical team responsible for "La La Land" and the smash Broadway hit Dear Evan Hansen, DOGFIGHT, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Peter Duchan, musical direction by Elmo Zapp, choreography and co-direction by Jennifer Oundjian and co-directed by Jennifer Strattan. DOGFIGHT will open on Friday, June 2 and perform through Sunday, June 25 at the Hudson Backstage, 6539 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

A sweeping spectacle of bawdy buffoonery and bloody rebellion, director Jonathan Epstein's razor sharp and condensed adaptation of Henry IV delivers both parts in one dynamic evening of theatre at Shakespeare & Company. Attending a World Premiere is always an exciting moment for audiences. There is an allure to the anticipation that the unknown brings. Then, when the theatrical event is nothing short of excellent, there is elating satisfaction to being among the first audiences privileged to see the piece staged. Such is the case with The Landing Theatre Company's breathtaking and gripping production of Aleks Merilo's EXIT 27, which was the winner of the 2012 New American Voices Play Reading Series last summer. This resoundingly incredible play deftly moved me more than anything I have ever witnessed, stirring my mind and breaking my heart many times and on many different levels.

The Off-Broadway theatre company The Shelter - an ensemble of writers, directors, actors and designers developing original works for the stage - will present the world premiere of their newest work, GHOST LIGHT, a collection of six original short plays performed on a bare stage below a single light. Preview performances of GHOST LIGHT began February 21 prior to an official press opening of February 24 at the Gloria Maddox Theatre (151 West 26th Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001) in Manhattan. Following its critically acclaimed hits The Quality of Life and Faith Healer, The Den Theatre continues its 2012/13 season with the world premiere of CITY OF DREADFUL NIGHT by Don Nigro, directed by ensemble member Ron Wells, playing now through March 16, 2013 on The Den's mainstage at 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chicago's Wicker Park Neighborhood. CITY OF DREADFUL NIGHT features Sam Guinan-Nyhart, Ben Hertel, Matthew Isler and Justine Turner. Bare begins its final weekend of performances, playing its final performance on Sunday, February 3rd at 7:30pm after 21 previews and 65 regular performances. The original 2004 cast, including John Hill, Natalie Joy Johnson, Adam Fleming, and Jenna Leigh Green reunited at the show and took pictures backstage with the current cast. Check them out below!

Broadway Dreams Foundation, a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing training, mentoring and career opportunities to the next generation of musical theater performers, visited the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. In honor of the occasion, Broadway Dreams Founder and Executive Director Annette Tanner rang the Closing Bell along with Broadway teaching artists Tony Vincent (American Idiot, NBC's 'The Voice') and Craig D'Amico (Annie Get Your Gun), as well as BDF's brightest students and rising stars. The Broadway Dreams Foundation held its second annual Champagne & Caroling Gala last night at Celsius, a restaurant, bar and event space within Citi Pond at Bryant Park (5th Ave and 42nd Street) on Monday, December 10. At this one of a kind urban winter wonderland in of the heart of midtown Manhattan, Broadway's brightest stars and patrons of the arts joined together for a festive celebration of the country's premier musical theatre training program. On October 19, 2012, millions of Americans will wear purple on Spirit Day in a stand against bullying and in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. GLAAD is once again leading outreach to engage the participation of individuals, celebrities, corporations, media outlets, schools, local communities and even national landmarks. By going purple on Spirit Day, participants can easily demonstrate their support for the LGBT community simply by wearing purple. Table 8 Productions presents William Shakespeare's thriller HAMLET. The run begins Friday, September 7, 2012, at The Onyx Theatre in Commercial Center and plays weekends through September. The company will feature Taylor Trensch (Peter), Jason Hite (Jason) and Elizabeth Judd (Ivy), with Gerard Canonico (Matt), Jerold E. Solomon (Father Mike), Barrett Wilbert Weed (Nadia) and Missi Pyle (Sister Joan). They will be joined by Casey Garvin (Zack), Ariana Groover (Vanessa), Sara Kapner (Madison), Nick Laughlin (Swing), Alice Lee (Diane), Megan Lewis (Swing), Justin Gregory Lopez (Beto), Michael Tacconi (Nick) and Alex Wyse (Alan).
