Ring ring, it's life on the line. An unsuspecting woman becomes deeply involved in the hilarious wiles of a stranger's life. His phone won't stop ringing (and he's not exactly able to answer) so she picks up the phone down the proverbial rabbit hole she goes. Sarah Ruhl penned the romantic comedy that Peter Amster will direct. The show will run in the Cook Theatre through March 8, with a pay-what-you-can (minimum $5, day of performance) preview night on February 18.

Sarah Ruhl's wildly imaginative and off-center romantic comedy "Dead Man's Cell Phone" opens next week at the intimate Off Center Stage in Grass Valley. The final production of Sierra Stages' 2016 season, "Dead Man's Cell Phone" is directed by Sharon Winegar and plays for three weekends only through October 16. The cast includesNevada County actors Chase Coney, Lyra Dominguez, Paulette Gilbert, Jonathan Hansard, Wendy Willoughby, and Sharon Winegar. Scenic & lighting design is by Tim Dugan and costume design is by Paulette Gilbert.

"Dead Accounts," Theresa Rebeck's darkly comic take on the chasm that divides Americans in the Midwest from their countrymen living in New York, will be the second play of the Hampton Theatre Company's 2015-2016 season, opening on January 14 at the Quogue Community Hall and running through January 31. LiveWire Chicago Theatre "gets technical" at VisionFest 5: Johnny 5 Is Alive, ten short plays inspired by technology's influence on society (or what happens when things short circuit). The fifth annual festival will be presented July 17 - August 2, 2013 at INTUIT - The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Lincoln Center Theater's production of IN THE NEXT ROOM or the vibrator play, a new play by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Les Waters, will open on Thursday (November 19) at the Lyceum Theater (149 West 45 Street).

The Katselas Theatre Company continues its landmark 2009-2010 Season with the World Premiere of Detention of the Dead by Robert Rinow, directed by Alex Craig Mann. Producing is Gary Grossman. The production opens Saturday, November 7 (10pm) at the Beverly Hills Playhouse Research Space.
