The Phantom of the Opera celebrated 35 years on Broadway last night, January 26, at the Majestic Theatre. The production opened on January 26, 1988. Enthusiastic, energized theater fans filled New York City's famed Theater District on Sunday, September 25, 2022, for the 36th annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction. With the sense of community reverberating loudly and proudly, the day-long event raised a record-breaking $1,043,825 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. See photos from the event!

During rehearsals at producer Mandee K. Hammerstein's home in Bucks County, fellow cast members (Clayton Prince & Joey Perillo) from the 1988 original film 'Hairspray', reunite for the first time in 30-years.  Prince ('Seaweed') and Perillo (Security Guard) exchange fond, movie-making memories, while talking future theatrical goals, all in anticipation of working together again on the New Feathers Production Stage this month.  

At a ceremony in Tokyo today, His Imperial Highness Prince Hitachi, honorary patron of the Japan Art Association, paid homage to the winners of the Association's 2017 Praemium Imperiale International Arts Award. This year's laureates are legendary performer Mikhail Baryshnikov, world music star Youssou N'Dour, architect Rafael Moneo, visual artist Shirin Neshat and sculptor El Anatsui. The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., once again makes theater history when it becomes the first Broadway show ever to celebrate its 25th Anniversary tonight, January 26, 2013. Produced by Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Group, Inc. and directed by Harold Prince, the musical phenomenon is in its unprecedented 24th year in New York, playing at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street). National Tour star Trista Moldovan makes her Broadway debut when she assumes the leading role of Christine Daaé beginning Friday, December 9. A black-tie dinner was held last night, June 23 at the Pierre Hotel in celebration of the best of British humor and entertainment to benefit the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and Young Americans' Challenge. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award was created by HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in 1956. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award has been dedicated to the personal development of young people, aged 14-25, from all backgrounds. The Award honors those who have made great personal achievements in the areas of service, exploration in a challenging environment, skills and physical recreation.
