Faction of Fools Theatre Company presents William Shakespeare's THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, pairing heightened text with heightened physical comedy in the style of Commedia dell'Arte. One of Shakespeare's most rich and intricate plays is also one of his most controversial, as it explores a burgeoning merchant class and what happens when things get personal. By utilizing masks and physical characterizations from Commedia dell'Arte, Faction of Fools puts the comedy back into the text, allowing the tragic junctures to cut all the more profoundly. HighTime, the first professional opera company to be based in Coventry, creates exciting new work for people who would never normally go and see an opera.  They are working with the theatre to produce the first ever 'relaxed performance' to come to the Belgrade. BWW Review: Osnes & Fontana Take Part in 'A Lovely Night' at the TILLES CENTER

There is nothing like the resonating echo of instruments tuning on a stage. For me, this sound is a perfect indicator that a fantastic evening is about to occur. This definitely was the case Sunday night at the Tilles Center when I saw A Broadway Romance Starring Tony Award nominees Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana. The evening was emceed by Ted Sperling, who is beginning a new initiative at the Tilles Center by bringing memorable Broadway themed events to the venue. Ted Sperling is a Tony Award winning orchestrator for the brilliant show The Light in the Piazza and is currently represented on Broadway by the current Tony-nominated revival of Fiddler on the Roof. The music of the magical evening was performed by the Orchestra of St. Luke's under the direction of Mr. Sperling. (more...)

In the first of four festivals in the CSO's 2016-17 season, Music Director Rossen Milanov will lead the CSO in the Last Notes Festival, showcasing the majestic, final works of Tchaikovsky and Mozart. Enhanced by educational and interactive offerings in the week prior to the concerts, the Last Notes Festival will include Tchaikovsky's haunting and turbulent Sixth Symphony, his final completed symphony that struggles between hope and despair, and the mercurial overture to Mozart's last opera, Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute). Additionally, the CSO, guest violinist Anthony Marwood, and renowned American composer and electric guitar maestro Steve Mackey will perform Four Iconoclastic Episodes, a captivating work composed by Mackey as a double concerto for violin and electric guitar.
