Closer Than Ever Photos - Off-Broadway

Today, we're featuring Brent Barrett, circa 1998. Barrett is mostly known for his work within American theatre. He has performed in musicals and in concerts with theatres, symphony orchestras, opera houses, and concert halls internationally. He starred in the original production of Maltby and Shire's hit Off-Broadway musical Closer Than Ever in 1989 and the 2001 West End revival of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate. He has also appeared sporadically on television and in films.

It's the homecoming of an Off-Broadway classic! York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) present the first New York City revival of the classic Off-Broadway hit Closer Than Ever with Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Music by David Shire. The cast and creative team of the first New York revival of the acclaimed Off-Broadway classic musical, Closer Than Ever, including multi Tony, Academy, and Grammy Award-winners Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire, 2012 Kleban Award-winner musical director, Andrew Gerle, and Broadway veterans Jenn Colella, George Dvorsky, Tony nominee Christiane Noll, and Sal Viviano, met the press yesterday, May 24. Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) and Bristol Riverside Theatre, in association with Neil Berg and Adam Friedson, will present a new production of the award-winning musical revue Closer Than Ever directed by Richard Malty. Jr. and starring original cast members Sally Mayes and Lynne Wintersteller along with Broadway alums George Dvorsky and Sal Viviano from April 16-25 (Wednesday and Thursday at 2PM; Friday and Saturday at 8pm; Saturday at 2pm; and Sunday at 3pm) in the Claire Shulman Playhouse Main Stage Theatre at Queens Theatre in the Park, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Flushing, NY

The party starts on January 29 at The Cleveland Play House with Ain't Misbehavin', a Tony Award-winning celebration of the music of Thomas 'Fats' Waller.

On Wednesday, November 25th at 8:00PM, The Marvelous Wonderettes will play their 500th marvelous performance at New York's Westside Theatre, upstairs (407 West 43rd Street). Written and directed by Roger Bean, The Marvelous Wonderettes features Courtney Balan, Christina DeCicco, Lindsay Mendez and Lowe Taylor.

On Monday, September 14th, The Marvelous Wonderettes celebrated its one-year anniversary in New York where it continues to run at Off-Broadway's Westside Theatre, upstairs (407 West 43rd Street).
