Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Executive Artistic Director), in association with MBL Productions (Mary J. Davis, Producer), presents the New York premiere of the new play, Still at Risk by Tim Pinckney (Message to Michael) at the Community Space Theater at Theater for the New City (155 First Avenue, between 9th & 10th Streets).  Directed by Carl Andress (The Divine Sister; Die, Mommie, Die!), the five-member cast will feature Robert Gomes (Dada Woof Papa Hot, The Tempermentals) as Kevin, Christopher J. Hanke (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Buyer & Cellar) as Christopher, Amy Hohn (November, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) as Susan, Ryan Spahn (Daniel's Husband, Summer and Smoke) as Byron, and Jonathan Walker (The Assembled Parties, The Divine Sister) as Marcus.

Celebration, under the artistic direction of Michael A. Shepperd, presents the first show in its 2019 season, Drew Droege (Die, Mommie, Die!) and Matthew Wilkas starring in the Los Angeles premiere of BORN TO WIN, written by Matthew Wilkas & Mark Setlock and directed by Michael Matthews. BORN TO WIN will begin previews on Wednesday, February 13 at 8pm; will open on Friday, February 15 at 8pm, with tickets on sale through Sunday, March 31 at Celebration Theatre @ the Lex Theatre, 6760 Lexington Ave. in Los Angeles.

DIE, MOMMIE, DIE! is a campy noir classic that follows the devious actions of fading Hollywood star Angela Arden, played to the hilt by Drew Droege in drag. Think of Gloria Swanson in "Sunset Boulevard" and throw in a bit of Joan Crawford's attitude and you get the idea of who Angela Arden is. And let me tell you, Droege is a wonder running across the stage in high heels, always dressed to feminine perfection by costumer Allison Dillard. But Angela is trapped in an unhappy marriage and plots to kill her husband, Hollywood producer Sol Sussman (Pat Towne) in order to be with her young, and very well-hung lover Tony Parker (Andrew Carter). His endowment is a running gag throughout the play, aimed at almost every other character at some point, a bit too suggestive and sexy for young audiences.

The Celebration Theatre production of "Die, Mommie, Die!," which Center Theatre Group is remounting at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the second annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre, will open Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m. Written by Charles Busch and directed by Ryan Bergmann, "Die, Mommie, Die!" is currently in previews and will close May 20.

This off-Broadway hit by the author of Psycho Beach Party, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and last year's smash hit The Divine Sister stars Doug Joseph as the irresistibly evil has-been heroine Angela. Cast also includes the struggling director Sol Sussman (Ralph E. Scott), his daughter (Erin Mellon), her brither Lance (Johnny Robison), former actor/country club tennis pro/humidor repairman/gigolo Tony Parker (Nick Lingofski), and keeping the house in order is Bootsie Carp (Josie Merkle)

The cast and creative team for The Actors Fund's upcoming benefit concert of MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL have officially begun rehearsals for the one-night-only event, set for Monday, December 15, 2014 at 7:30 pm at The Gerald W. The Pulitzer Prize and OBIE Award-winning Theatre for the New City (TNC) held its 10th Annual LOVE 'N' COURAGE benefit gala last night, February 25, 2013 at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South in Manhattan), this year honoring award-winning actor and playwright Charles Busch. Hosts for LOVE 'N' COURAGE were composer and singer Phoebe Legere and playwright/filmmaker Matt Morillo ('Maid of Honor'). The performers at this year's show included Mr. Busch, The Love Show, dancer/choreographer Kitty Lunn and Infinity Dance, juggler supreme John Grimaldi, Carol Freeman, Luba Mason, KT Sullivan, Tammy Grimes, Drew Pulver, Mark Marcante and Crystal Field. The fabulous Lypsinka, Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming (CABARET, 'The Good Wife'), and Tony nominees Alison Fraser (SECRET GARDEN, ROMANCE/ROMANCE) and Andrew Rannells (BOOK OF MORMON) all made appearances at Abingdon Theatre Company's 19th Annual Benefit Gala yesterday, October 24 at Espace, honoring Charles Busch, Julie Halston and Timothy P. Speiss. Beth Leavel, a Tony winner for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE emceed the gala. Carl Andress, who helmed Busch's THE DIVINE SISTER, THE THIRD STORY, DIE MOMMIE DIE! and SHANGHAI MOON, directed.

The John W. Engeman Theater is proud to announce the cast and creative team for Hairspray, the first show of their 5th Season. Previews begin on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 8:00 p.m., officially opening on July 9, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. and running through August 28, 2011. Hairspray is based on the film written and directed by John Waters, music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan.
