Coventry's award-winning flower shop, Hubbard's Florists, were treated to a visit from the cast of the blooming marvellous musical Little Shop of Horrors this week! Currently playing at the Belgrade Theatre until Saturday, this cult classic sci-fi musical stars X Factor's Rhydian Roberts, West End actor Sam Lupton and a carnivorous plant named Audrey II. Tomorrow night's episode of THE GOLDBERGS on ABC pays tribute to the Broadway musical LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.

How does the musical black comedy LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS fit into the Cleveland Play House's 100th anniversary theme of paying homage to their history? To find the answer requires going back to May, 1916, when the theatre staged THE DEATH OF TINTAGILES. The avant-garde play starred marionettes created by Helen Haiman Joseph, who created The Puppet Players Theatre at CPH in the mid-1920s.

The production is directed and choreographed by Michael-Anthony Nozzi with musical direction by Joshua Eli Kranz, and produced by Shari Barrett and Sheridan Cole Crawford by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. The production features original Audrey II puppets designed by Michael-Anthony Nozzi and costumes designed by Maria Cohen and Arlene Cohen.

The hilariously creepy musical is based on the low-budget 1960 cult film. The catchy musical score, composed by Menken in the style of 1960's rock -'n- roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several show-stoppers including 'Skid Row,' 'Somewhere That's Green,' and 'Suddenly Seymour,' as well as the title song "Little Shop of Horrors".

Producer John Breglio and the Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. will present the premiere engagement at the Apollo Theater, prior to the national tour of the groundbreaking musical. West Virginia Public Theatre continues its 25th Anniversary Summer Season by bringing back a cult-classic musical comedy thriller after fourteen years absence from the WVPT stage. Little Shop of Horrors runs from June 30th through July 5th in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre of the WVU Creative Arts Center. First appearing at WVPT in 1995, this audience favorite was written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken?the team behind such Disney favorites as Aladdin and The Little Mermaid?and tells the story of a nerdy florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. The musical was based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman.

The 2008-2009 Reprise Theatre Company season continues with the classic international hit 'Man of La Mancha,' starring Brent Spiner as Cervantes/Quixote. Julia Migenes, the renowned opera and theatre performer, will play Aldonza/Dulcinea; Valerie Perri will play the role of Aldonza/Dulcinea at matinee performances; and Tony nominee Lee Wilkof will play Sancho Panza.
